Steve Schubert is one of 100 professional videographers from all over the country heading to Scramento, California to take part in the World Record Wedding Video Event. Alysia Thomas and Farai Melton will be married by recently retired California Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Gunther at the beautiful Library Galleria. Other records to be set that day are the smallest video camera (hidden in a bouquet), and the most professional videographers to videotape a wedding ceremony. Also a stunning Matrix Dove release sequence will be coordinated at the State Capital.
Every effort has been made to minimize camera visibility during the ceremony. The Library Galleria is a huge beautiful venue that will allow placement of a large majority of the cameras in a wrap-around balcony- above and far behind the guests. The rest of the cameras will be placed in traditional positions in the rear and the side on the main floor. And yes, there will be cameras at the altar! SuperCircuits has donated their incredible spycams (about the size of a wireless lapel mic) to hide in the bridal bouquet and on the grooms lapel. All videographers will be dressed in black. All camera locations will be pre-positioned; all but a few cams will be on tripods. Ceremony guests will certainly notice the video cameras, but will be amazed at how unobtrusive so many cameras can be. The greatest distraction during the wedding may very well be the noise and flash from the still photographer's cams. Major news cams covering the event will be assigned to a 'press box' area near the rear.
SVP ended 2005 on a high note by winning the Communicator Awards with the music video, "Ohio" and the Dipre wedding prequel. In total SVP received 9 international awards for the year.
